Random fact, which will lead to a blog shortly.

Today is the birthday of Dr. Suess. Put especially festive socks on your fox today in recognition. The red fish and the blue fish could be dressed up a little as well.

Don't bother changing the cat's hat; as you already know, the cat in the hat will do exactly what he likes.

Have you been to Google today? They've changed the logo on their home page to be made up of Seuss characters -- so adorable!

We were planning on having the red fish and blue fish for dinner, right after the kids play a rousing game of Hop on Pop. (We're surprising Husband with the latter, he'll be accosted coming through the door.)

and Quinn?
I would read you on a train,
And I would read you on a plane,
And I would ready you in the dark,
I live to read your funny snark!

My son's school had a Dr. Seuss birthday celebration scheduled today, but school is canceled for snow. My 7 year old was a bit disappointed, but he's bearing up admirably.

I'm so sorry for putting this in a comment, but I looked for another way to email you and I couldn't find one. And I would not even be telling you except it's the main point of your post and I know if it were me I would want to know: there's a typo in Seuss.

p.s. Oh! And now I remember that you have comment moderation! So this won't show up on your site unless you say okay. Whew. So feel free to never let this comment see the light of day. :-)

I just returned from reading "Fox in Socks" to two classes (K & 2nd grade) at my son's school. Before reading, in each class, I asked how many kids knew what "tongue twisters" are. Only one kid (in the 2nd grade class) had ever heard of them...and that was because he saw something about them on "Spongebob Squarepants."

I fear for our collective souls.

While reading this I just kept thinking of that new U2 song
except I changed the words to:

"Get On Your Seuss!"

And I know that is going to stick in my brain like a JuJuBe on a molar.

Peace - Rene

Can't email you, so comment will have to do.

I need advice re: my miniature poodle, Lizzie. We're converting to all hardwood floors and she won't eat on anything but carpet. (See hisunfinishedwork.blogspot.com)

Any ideas? You were the first one I thought could help due to your obvious love of animals.

Aahhhh, nooooo! I missed it! I actually own TWO "One fish, two fish" T-shirts! I could have worn them in homage or...well, that's not the right word, but whatever.

My son in third grade was very excited about Dr. Seuss's birthday. Dr. Seuss was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, which is near where we live. My son wrote me a list of all the books Dr. Seuss had written; he then re-read the ones we had at home. The Springfield Museums have a "Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden", where we have enjoyed seeing and touching various Dr. Seuss characters.
