No. Generational, I think. Ditto for Blackberries et al as well. I think it takes longer to get into these things if you are not twelve.

I've listened to a couple. I guess it depends on the topic and the style of the podcaster. (The couple I listened to, I liked the topic, but it was presented so coldly, I had trouble relating.)

NO. I'm electronically savvy, but as work takes up more and more of my time, I become more selective in my leisure choices. I'd rather scan a blog that listen to a podcast. Plus, I don't have an Ipod.
I listen to The Radio Adventures of Doctor Floyd (www.doctorfloyd.com) and WXPN Live at the World Cafe. Both are less than 15min long..about as long as I'm willing to lift weights so that works out great for me.
I read you at work to enjoy. Don't think I could listen to you. A direct answer to your question is "NO."
Actually, you don't need an iPod to listen to podcasts. Podcasts are nothing more than glorified audio files you can open in most any audio program. They've been around forever, and it's just another buzzword to get people to buy stuff they don't need.
That aside, since I'm a member of the vast right-wing conspiracy, I listen to Rush Limbaugh on "podcasts".
The thing I like about podcasts is that I can listen to shows any time I want that are otherwise broadcast at specific times. I am a programmer and it varies when I can listen to shows during the day. If I'm doing something I consider easy that doesn't require most of my concentration, I'll pop in a talk-radio podcast; otherwise I'll just listen to music, stuff I don't have to concentrate on!

I think it's something to do with the word 'pod' and the action of 'casting' - reminds me of a freaky alien movie I saw when I was five.

I mean to listen to podcasts, but I always forget. I think part of it is that I spend most of my internet surfing time at work, and I don't hook the pod up to that computer.
Quinn, I read you ALOT. fell in love with your blog a few months ago and link back to you from my blog frequently. I think switching to podcasts would bring an end to such inter-blog linking as well as intra-blog linking(linking back to previous entries.) That would just be sad.
To answer your question directly though, NO, I do not listen to pod casts.

I don't. I'm not against it, except I just like my quiet. I have two boys and husband chattering away all the time, so I'd rather read in quiet than listen. Also, I couldn't listen while my children are around anyway. Too distracting!
Like Karyn,,I didn't know what "podcast" was. From reading all the comments I have somewhat of an idea, but if it means you will quit writing this blog I vote NO on the podcast idea!
I don't have an iPod or a fast enough connection to listen to podcasts at home (yet), so it's not something that I'm into. But since I know that your actual voice would contribute immensely to your literary voice, I think it's a great idea - assuming you're asking for your own plans, and not just conducting a general opinion poll.
I love Podcasts. I live and work in Manhattan but I also have a home in upstate NY which is 4 hours each way travel time. (I lie and say the drive is Zen. Its really just far.) Between audible.com and podcasts they are the only thing that makes the drive bearable. May I also thank Tim Gunn for having very long podcasts. So Quinn ahem please?
